This page is designed to answer frequently asked questions about the facilities provided for network members on the website. If you can’t find what you are looking for please contact bloc – admin@bloc.org.uk.

1. How do I subscribe to the bloc bulletin?
The bloc bulletin is a free, fortnightly digest of news and opportunities in creative technology. To sign up to receive the bulletin, you will need to fill in the form at http://www.bloc.org.uk/3-2.html. Please make sure you select to receive the bulletin.

2. How do I add a news item?
Before you are able to add a news item, you will need to register and login. Registration is free. To register as a new member go to: http://www.bloc.org.uk/3-2.html. Once you have registered you will need to login. To do this enter the user name and password you created when you registered. This information would also have been sent to you in an email when you registered.

Once you have logged in, you will see a different set of options in the ‘Login’ area on the right of the screen. Click ‘add news’.

Fill in the form with your information. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk.

You may add an image to accompany your news item. You must upload your image in a JPEG format. Images should be a minimum of 170px wide – images which are narrower than this will be scaled up to 170px and will therefore lose quality.

If you have a welsh translation for your news item, please enter the title and description at the foot of the field.

bloc reserves the right to edit or delete news item, to fit our editorial policy, or to remove inappropriate content.

3. I’ve made a mistake with my news item. What do I do?
Unfortunately, once a news item is submitted, you cannot make changes to it.

Should you make a mistake once you have submitted your information you can email admin@bloc.org.uk and ask for the news item to be deleted. If required you can then create a new news item with the correct information.

4. How do I change the email address that the bulletin is sent to?
This information is part of your member profile on the website. See below.

5. How do I edit my profile?
To edit your profile, login to the site (under Login on the right) using your username and password and click ‘change details’ (again, under ‘Logged in’ on the right of the screen).

Use the form to change your email address, add a new image, or change your listing on the members page (http://www.bloc.org.uk/3-3.html).

6. How do I add an image to my profile?
Once you are registered and logged in (see above), you can add an image to accompany your member profile. This will appear next to your listing on the bloc Members’ page (http://www.bloc.org.uk/3-3.html), at a larger size on your Member detail page as well as appearing randomly in the sidebar around the site.

To add an image, click ‘change details’ under Logged in on the right. Scroll to the bottom of the form and locate the file upload field labeled ‘you may add an image by ….’. Click Browse to find the image on your computer and upload it. Images must be in JPEG format. The image will appear at a maximum size of 120px square, so the file you upload should be larger than that ideally.

7. What are the benefits of being a member?
